Hello! It's been forever since I've posted on here. November is the busiest month of the fall term for me and I'm finally down to one essay and one section of a group paper left. Two weeks ago I uploaded a video about going to NYX (the new square one location) and have a few swatches to show you! These are all lip products, but I also got one brow product that I'm in love with.
Here are the swatches and the video that goes way more in depth is below! And below that are just little updates in point form of what's going on.

We're moving throughout December-February and will be fully moved out on the last day of February so uploads might be very sporadic
I will try to upload a "What makeup I'm using to tide me over while I move" video at some point
I have an etsy shop called brazilianglamour that you should check out if you like the EC life planner in vertical!
Exams are happening from the beginning of december to near the end so check on my twitter @amysousa for updates there
Hello! This is a blog post I've been meaning to write for a very very long time. So I'm going to do this super informally and just use headings for everything I'm going to talk about
The Planner Itself
This is a daily planner that includes the entire year of 2016. I paid an extra 5 bucks when I ordered it back in July to include all of that month up to the end of 2015 so I could enjoy the planner beforehand. The planner I got is the Personalized metallic Life Planner in the white with gold foiled designs. This option is $65.00 USD, but you can get a ready to ship planner (without having your name on it) for $50.00 USD. You can get a rose gold planner, but that's an extra 15 bucks. Click HERE to visit the website.
Picture taken from Erin Condren's website (same planner as mine, except for the last name)
What Comes When You Order a Planner
When you order the planner the shipping depends all on where you live. The planner comes with a few stickers, but you can also order a few accessories. These are the ones that I ordered
(This last one is my own picture of what came along with the planner (nothing extra purchased)).
A Look Inside:
These first two are weeks that have already happened and obviously I'm awful at drinking water. I need to do that more often :(
The last pic is obviously a future week, but I wanted to show you how I plan things out beforehand.
Stickers (not from Erin Condren)
Ok so half the excitement is the planner and the other half are the stickers that I ordered to help me organize the planner itself. Originally I didn't even know that this planner existed, but Elle Fowler on youtube introduced me to this and stickers that you can use to customize the planner further. As you've seen in the pictures above every month has it's own specific colour. Every year the colours stay the same, which is great for the stickers that you can buy for the planner. As of right now I've only ordered stickers from two different shops and those are PurpleDogwoodDesigns and PlannerStickerPlus.
I actually also had a mini september kit from PlannerStickerPlus, but I used it all up so there was no point in keeping the sheet, but you can look up whatever you want on their Etsy pages!
I used PSP for September because I ordered the stickers late and they're coming from much closer to me shipping wise. The stickers for this shop are great for different categories and events such as going to the movies, grocery shopping, periods tracking, and little things like that. For my actual organizing I used PDWD for my to do lists, event flags, full boxes, weekend banners, and all of the more structural stuff. Honestly these two stores are amazing (especially for the prices if you're in Canada and don't want to pay a ridiculous amount for shipping).
I only bought two things outside of Etsy and Erin condren for the planner and those two things were Pens and Washi Tape both from Amazon:
That's it for my review! Hopefully it was way better than the terrible quality video I attempted to film for it. If you've read so far here's my coupon code to get 10 bucks off the planner or anything you order off of the website! https://www.erincondren.com/referral/invite/amysousa1012 When you use this link I won't get anything unless you actually make an order. If you order with my link I will receive a 10 dollar credit on my account to use on Erin Condren's website, but at that point you will receive your own link so really you save 10 and I make 10 :D
I hope you enjoyed this review and I hope to write again soon!
Hello again! This week I'm doing a TAG video and blogpost. These are a lot easier to write about because it allows me to link everything as I talk about it. The actual video is at the bottom of this post if you would rather watch that :) Remember if you do to watch it on youtube so you can see who's been tagged and all that :)
So here are the questions for the tag:
THE FALL FAVORITES TAG -
Favorite Candle
Warm Vanilla Sugar (Bath and Body Works) by far. It's super warm scented and smells like you're baking a vanilla cake. It's not overwhelming at all, but the scent is strong enough to make the entire room and hallway smell amazing.
Favorite Lip Color: I have three: 1. Just So by Revlon 2. Cosmo by Mac 3. Purply pink? (Fail)By Lancome. These are my three favourites for years, but I know I'm going to have at least two other favourites being 1. Kat Von D's Vampira and 2. MAC's Speak Louder.
Favorite DrinkFrench Vanilla from Timmies (Tim Horton's). Apparently there isn't any caffeine in it, but it wakes me up really quickly (maybe it's the amount of sweeteners that I put in).
Favorite Blush: Coastal Scents Blush Duo in Forever Blush. It has a warmer side (Fresh) that looks really good while blended closely to my bronzer because we all know I'm not a fan of blush AT ALL. I only want to try that one luminoso blush by milani and an hour glass one before I make it definitive.
Favorite Clothing Item: Sweat pants are my number one for a variety of reasons including comfort, wearing leggings underneath them to make them super warm, and when I eat a large meal they help conceal my food baby. Scarves - I have a lot of those to help make my black winter jacket not look so plain jane! I also have like 7-9 pairs of boots when most girls I know have two- maybe three?
Favorite Thanksgiving Food: Turkey and it's glorious Gravy!
Favorite Halloween Costume: From what I've been in the past: Luigi. For what I want to be: Persephone or Aphrodite (easy I know), Alice in Wonderland (original or Tim Burton Themed) or Little Red Riding Hood (a darker version). That's it for my fall favourites this year! I'll make one again next year if a lot changes, but I doubt they will other than favourite costumes and possibly favourite blush (If I can find one that I would actually not be afraid to put on). I hope you've enjoyed the tag and if you watch me on youtube and I also watch you, check out the downbar (Description box?) to see if you were tagged. Even if you weren't I'd love it if you did the tag and linked it to me :) In my video I added a tenth question (which is the second part of favorite Halloween costume, where I mention what I dream to be for Halloween) so it'd be awesome to see people doing that as well! Have a great week everyone! Amy Sousa
Hello everyone! Today is a special blog post for me because I just celebrated my one year anniversary with my boyfriend Steven and I want to summarize what we did and hopefully it doesn't sound braggy- I'm just super happy about it. To start off the celebration we had already purchased our gifts for each other. I bought him his favourite cologne that he believed wasn't available anywhere out of New York (he's strange and doesn't actually do online research for these types of things unless it's car related) so I found it on the Burberry website and ordered it from the UK. For my present Steven bought be an amazing Rose Gold ring pictured below (The pink stone is Morganite and the others are diamonds)
I also attempted to vlog and will most likely be putting one up in the middle of the week (the weekends are just for the beauty related videos) so if you're interested you can see what I do on a day to day basis over a few days (I'm a really boring person and ramble a lot).
I filmed a makeup video for what I did for that night. Unfortunately the day fell on a Thursday so we only had the chance to go to a movie so I decided that because my skin was really good that I wasn't going to do foundation and just focus on the eyes and lips. We ended up watching the scorch trials and Spoiler alert if you haven't read the book but .......wtf zombies? I HATE THEM IF I KNEW THEY WERE GOING TO BE IN THAT MOVIE I NEVER WOULD'VE GONE. But it was good. I just have an irrational fear of zombies considering I never watched anything with zombies before and constantly have nightmares of them. But Dylan O'Brien is bae basically (Steven was not happy about my little squeal when he popped up on the screen).
Hello beauties and welcome (especially to those of you from Beau Bloggers!) This post is more of a video post (as per usual), but this is my first fall tutorial for 2015! I used mainly drugstore (and drugstore priced) products for my look mixed in with a few higher end basics that I always use. Here's the actual video and for those of you who would rather not watch the video tutorial I can explain the basic products that I used. I've linked the higher end products down below the video.
Products:
Face (Most not shown in video)
Maybelline fit me concealer in 10 light
Physicians formula loose powder (Under eye, cheekbones, centre of the forehead)
There really isn't any explaining to do to attain this look. If you aren't watching the tutorial you're probably better at makeup than I am and understand how to apply the makeup. Basically I started with the dark brown from the pallette in the crease, which honestly I regret doing as it made the orange not show up as much as I would've liked. Thankfully the makeup geek shadow is crazy pigmented so it ended up well. The eyeliner was a huge fail considering it's starting to dry out and I cannot for the life of me do well with my eyeliner while filming, but It's just a regular wing.
Hello all! This week is an exciting video because it's in collaboration with another beauty vlogger on youtube! Check the video out on youtube and look at the description box for her info!
Hello all (maybe one or two of you)! I wanted to make a helpful video and blog post for those of you that are in my position work wise. I currently work full time at my university as a Copyright Clerk, which requires me to dress professionally. In the past I've always worked in retail so my outfits were always well... casual. The only job I worked at before this one was professional, but I worked from home so I usually just wore PJ's.
Here's the video I made and if you prefer reading check below for a quick list of tips and pics!
Makeup Guide:
Foundation:
As much of a natural looking foundation as possible. Unfortunately cake face is frowned upon in the professional world of business. Most employers don't want you wearing a lot of makeup and the first step to that is a lightweight foundation or a higher coverage BB cream. I personally use just concealers in my problem areas because I work at a desk and the only people I meet with are professors who don't care what I look like, but if I can get their stuff done quickly.
Eye Makeup:
Go natural. Light browns, peaches, champagne colours are best. Avoid shimmery/glittery eyeshadow and going too dark. Just using a colour base such as a MAC paint pot like I do (sometimes with a light brown in the crease, especially on Fridays). This will block out the veins and discolouration
Mascara: This you don't have to worry about. Just don't do too many layers and make it look too clumpy. One or two layers is plenty. Also, no falsies unless you work in a field where it would make sense.
Liner: Tightlining is perfectly acceptable, but winged liner and putting black liner in your water line is generally a no no when it comes to being professional in a business type job. There's really no use and a lot of time employers might think you're trying too hard.
Lipstick: Nudes (not "I just came back from the dead" or "this matches my foundation nude"), natural pinks, and sometimes even red lipstick are the way to go. I'd say make sure your red lipstick has a warmer undertone or it might draw too much attention to the rest of your makeup.
The Rest:
Bronzer: Bronzing up your face a little bit (keyword: LITTLE) is perfectly fine, but seriously. Don't go crazy carving out your face. Though it may look amazing and glam, that's not what your job is. Unless it is and you work in the field of makeup then go as crazy and glamorous as you want. But if you're working in business like me stick to minimal.
Blush: Same rule as bronzer, just as natural as you can get and stay away from shimmer. You don't want to go overboard with the pink stuff.
Brows: Just make them as natural as you possibly can. Try not to make the lines too perfectly straight or make your brows too dark. Also don't carve them out. While brows frame your face, they won't help you in your career.
Outfit guide:
Blazers
One black
One skin tone/nude/possibly brown
One fun colour (in my case hot pink)
The black and nude will work with a lot of different coloured shirts (to wear underneath) and accessories (necklaces, bracelets, rings), but nothing too crazy!
With the fun colour you should only wear this once in a while, but when you do I highly recommend wearing either a white or black shirt with it. Here's an awkward iPhone pic from when I wore this to a job interview.
Bottoms
Black dress pants
Regular black pants
Khaki
Skirts
Black dress pants and regular pants are a no brainer when it comes to business/casual. Though they aren't actually that easy to find. I personally prefer the regular pants because they aren't as flowy and because I just wear flats every day to work.
Khaki pants are what I like to wear for casual Friday. They still look professional, but they're comfortable enough for going out after work to the mall, movies, or home to watch Netflix.

Hello and welcome to the first of eventually many colour series posts! Carli Bybel on youtube posted a video a few months ago (or weeks, can't remember) revolving around the colour red and I thought it was a great idea so all credits for the idea go to her! I decided to create a look that is based on PINK because pink is such a fun colour for spring and summer and let's be honest- not many people wear pink eyeshadow.
I wanted to incorporate pink in everything so I filmed this video for you :) I hope you enjoy it!
Hello all! It's been a while since I've posted a blog post on here... that made no sense. However, I'm going to try my best now that it's summer to actually keep up with posts. Today's post is simple; it's just a video. Here's the boyfriend tag that FINALLY went up with my amazing boyfriend Steven. I hope you enjoy it :)
Ok. I know this isn't as big of a deal as I'm about to make it seem, but I'm really excited.
Marlena AKA Makeup Geek just released her brand new foiled eyeshadows! I of course pre-ordered them and have just received mine yesterday, but I'm already in love with the formulation.
I've never owned a foiled eyeshadow before, and I've only owned two makeup geek eyeshadows in "Hipster" and "Shimma Shimma", but I knew I'd love all her stuff. I bought ten eyeshadows, 5 foiled and 5 regular eyeshadows.
For the regular eyeshadows I got in order:
Prom Night
Glamorous
CoaCoa Bear
Mocha
Corrupt
The top is with flash and the bottom is without.
They're all super pigmented (better than Mac quality) and only $5.99 (American) each. Now moving on to the reason that I ordered. The Foiled eyeshadows.
For the foiled eyesahdows I got these colours in this order:
In the spotlight
Flame Thrower
Jester
Pegasus
Centre Stage
The top photo is with flash and the bottom is without.
As you can see the pigmentation is incredible. These are all done with one swipe and no primer whatsoever.
The foiled eyeshadows are $9.99 (USD) each.
The shipping was very fast as well. It took a week (including the weekend) to arrive at my apartment, and I live in Canada. These eyeshadows shipped from down in the states so that's really fast for the cheapest shipping option.
Overall I think Makeup Geek eyeshadows are the best single eyeshadows you can purchase, and I'm holding myself back from saying that they're the best eyeshadows in general because I don't own too big of a variety of eyeshadows.
I definitely want to try the blushes and anything else Marlena is working on!
I hope you enjoyed this quick review! I will be posting a video review on these eyeshadows in the near future (1-2 weeks from now most likely) so keep a look out for that! Bye for now, I'll see you soon.
I just posted a video talking about updates for the month, but I'll do a quick summary below.
Here's a breakdown about what I talk about in the video
1. My best friend is moving in with us temporarily (a few weeks to a month and a bit most likely
2. Because of this the apartment tour will be delayed OR I'll show the second bedroom AKA my filming room later on when she moves out (YOU can decide which one you would prefer)
3. My background/filming location will be different until she moves out and I'll be experimenting with different locations so see what works best for me and you guys
4. Uploads will stay the same (once a week) for the meantime as I might be getting a full time job on top of my other part time, but if not they'll probably turn into twice a week when I get into the swing of things.
Hello! I just posted a video on what I do for my skin care routine! Here's the video and just incase you exit out before watching my normal awkward video ending...
If you want to see a boyfriend TAG with Steven, send me questions you'd like to see answered that aren't already on the original TAG, OR send me a link to a specific boyfriend TAG you'd like to see :)
Have a great rest of the week. I'll see you in next weeks GRWM ;)
Hello future readers who will hopefully read this blog! (I'm totally delusional, but I shall continue either way)
I don't know what you want to see. I have a few ideas of videos to make, but I'm not sure about specifics. For example, I know I want to do something that has to do with fashion (clothing based), but I'm not sure if you want to see OOTD's, my favourite pieces in each category, my favourite complete outfits, etc. What do YOU want to see specifically? Same thing goes with makeup looks. Send me links to pictures for me to recreate them.
Soon I'll be posting some sort of questions and answers video because it's been ages since the last one, and hopefully in a month or so there will be a boyfriend tag video up on my channel.
I'm writing this while on a study break for my last exam for my second year! I'm feeling good about this one at least. But I'm procrastinating on the readings. Anyways, that's not interesting at all.
TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE! I'll listen to you carefully, I promist!
Now back to studying. I'll write soon.
Also, I didn't make a blog post for this, but a few weeks ago I posted my February+March Ipsy review, which is also my FINAL video for ipsy as I have unsubscribed from the service. There is a lot more information and a good explanation in the video so click HERE to see it!
Hello! I haven't posted a video or made a blog posts in over a month. I know that seems bad, but there's a reason for it. I decided that moving in the middle of the semester was a good idea, and when looking at it- it really was. I lived in a student house with 5 other people and all I had was a tiny room with all of my furniture in it. There was no space for doing homework, makeup, relaxing, having people over, and my roommates were (excuse the meanness) total pigs. My boyfriend and I decided that we would both be happier moving (him from his parents house in a different town from school and me from a student house) so we moved into a two bedroom apartment closer to our university. It's been almost a month since we've started moving, but now we're all moved in and only require cleaning up. We still don't have internet and I'm writing this from school (and uploading videos from school) because we'd like to get internet for the beginning of next month.
We decided to record our little process of moving and made a moving vlog that includes three weeks of content (in about 10 minutes) so here it is!
I will go back to making videos on a set schedule very soon! I'm aiming for one video a week for now, but when school is over I'll aim for two (or even three :o) if you guys enjoy the content and request more/like/comment/all that stuff that shows you're watching.
Anyways, that's all I have to say for now other then there's going to be an updated Apartment tour coming in a few weeks after my Dog moves in with us from my Mom's house.
Hello all! This should have been uploaded on the weekend, but I unfortunately broke my SD Card - USB stick so I had to upload all of my files to my iMac to then transfer them over to my laptop, which was impossible because I wasn't at home during the weekend and I had surgery yesterday so yeah. Life happens.
Here's a video I made specifically for Valentines day. This is just a very simple look that would look great for something more casual. Of course you can change the lipstick colour, contour a bit more and even highlight to change this into a better date night look.
Anyways, Here's the video! All the products that I used are listed below the video in this post :)

If you've seen my January Ipsy Review blog post or video you may have heard me mention that I'm moving soon.
Throughout March I will be moving into an apartment with my boyfriend and my Dog who currently lives with my Mom in Toronto. I've barely been uploading videos or blogging, but once I move I won't have to worry about 5 roommates and lack of lighting so I can make videos whenever I want without the worry of being judged for talking to myself.
I want to either blog or make videos about the move showing how I set up my space as I will be buying a whole new desk specifically for makeup storage and will have a much nicer set up in general. I also want to show you guys how I'm decorating and incorporating cool tips for how to decorate your first apartment while on a budget because my boyfriend and I are both university students, which means we are masters of budgeting.
If you like the idea of me documenting the move and decorating let me know! I'll most likely film it either way.
As for regular videos I will try my best to upload as much as I can, but with Two (possibly three) jobs and school there isn't much time left in the day to film when there's sunlight (my room lighting sucks poop). When school is done in May I will definitely get onto a good uploading schedule and do as many requested videos as I possible can.
Let me know what you think and what you want to see!
I'm starting out 2015 with an Ipsy bag review! I've been subscribed to ipsy for close to two years now and have always loved it. My only issue with ipsy is that it's closer to $20 a month as I live in Canada and the currency hasn't been great recently. Now that I'm not a beginner at makeup and have a bunch of basic products, Ipsy isn't what I need anymore and for the same price as ipsy I can buy one MAC lipstick, one sigma brush, three drug store items, or two nail polishes of my choice.
If you're a beginner at makeup, ipsy is great for you! My advice would be to get a one year subscription because it's cheaper than paying month to month (which is what I did) and the subscription is automatically over after 12 monthly bags. It's also worth if if you live in the states and it's only $10 with free shipping.
This month I received a blue and white bag (not my favourite... actually it's really ugly) with products I wasn't all too excited about. Usually I love my ipsy bags, but I only really got one great product and two okay products. I filmed a video which is at the end of this post actually reviewing each item.
Will I continue with ipsy? No. I'm considering trying out a different subscription box that is the same price or maybe a seasonal box with amazing things. Any suggestions? I'd love to hear them! But for now I'm going to save that money for products that I can chose from and know that I'll love.
Hello! I'm a young Canadian beauty/lifestyle blogger. I'm transitioning more into lifestyle, starting with my wedding series! I hope you enjoy my blog and stick around :)
